Piney chapel volunteer fire department here in limestone county is doing there annual dove hunt at nick Davis and Sanderson rd. $10 per hunter it's normally a great hunt and all the proceeds benefit the department. Just thought I would pass on the info to everyone.

No kidding. They could sure as heck raise a lot more money at $50. $10 isn't going to move the needle much.

It's been $10 for the last 10 years at least. Last year they also had dogs, burgers, and some drinks for sale as well. When I was 18 years old I started volunteering with this department and worked the hunt many years. There are a lot of people that give a donation on top of the gate fee.

There's a $25 or $50 hunt about 10-15 miles away from this one as well.

Yes. Was. Cut corn field. Farmers up here are gracious to allow benefit hunts like this go on for the community

I believe it was cut the beginning of the week or the end of last week. Everyone around here was cutting corn prior to the rain starting Wednesday

Do they ever do a second shoot later in the season?

Depends on what the farmer wants to do. I know the farmer normally does not allow sunday hunting but they have held a Friday and/or Saturday the second weekend a few times over the years
