I'll play. 90% of my hunting is done with a Marlin .357 lever action with iron sights. I killed a 9 point with it last season.

What ammo are you using? Might use mine some this year also.

158 grain jhp. Just what I had when I loaded up. I'm sure there's a better round to shoot. But it got the job done.

this is a great idea. makes me want to buy a lever; haven't had one in 8-9 years ...

Since I can't use my climbers to bowhunt, I may have to make this challenge my "get them close" substitute. Count me in. Never mind, it will require pictures and I'm boycotting pictures on Aldeer out of disgust with greedy Photobucket. Upon thinking about it, I'm still in but I'll just have to email someone else the picture to post for me if you have enough bandwidth. He's going to be so big, space on the internet may be an issue.

I'd like to get in on this action. I have a scope on my 45-70, but my 30-30 is all iron.

The Pentax POS scope fell apart late last year on the thudythudy so i am in. This because I'm too cheap and lazy to replace it. But the only private place I can shoot center fire is going up for sale soon. So the mileage could get cut short.

To bad in the scope rule. I shot this 8 Friday with my marlin guide gun with some of my handloads.
