Not a bad idea to get 2 witness signatures on the Bill of Sale. Florida requires a tag on boat trailers...the seller *should* allow you to use his tag to pull the boat back, then you mail it back to him.
I've bought a couple of boats from Florida...zero problems if you have your ducks in a row.

Have you tried Google?

Get the title, trailer registration, bill of sale and like someone else said, I'd get two witnesses just to be safe. The title at least verifies that there is no lien on it, even though AL doesn't title boats. I got my nephew a car over here that he registered in AL and they wanted him to have two witnesses on the bill of sale. They let him get a couple of people inside the DMV for it.
I'd also recommend you itemize the hull, motor, trailer and accessories on the bill of sale. In FL you only pay actual sales tax on the value of the hull. Not sure if AL does that or not, but can't hurt.

I bought one in Florida two years ago. I just took a copy of the title, bill of sale and trailer registration. They didn't keep my title, never said anything about it. It cost $25 for the boat, I don't remember what the trailer cost.
not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids
