Id probably think it would depend on the situation as to whether it would matter on the time. Could drag it out to let it expire if he thought it was bogus.
Only accurate rifles are interesting.

there is no time limit for Judge to have to rule on a judgment. That is what I was thinking but seems even judges should have guidelines to adhere to. They simply could just not make a ruling and there really is nothing the plaintiff or defendant can do.

I've seen times where they don't want to rule because they know the right thing will be unpopular or not easy so they delay hoping it will go away. The first one that comes to mind is an odd case we had where the husband and underage stepdaughter professed their love for each other and he even told the wife he only married her to be close to her daughter. As I recall the girl was 13 at the time. There was only normal delays in the criminal case, but the judge kept putting off the civil proceedings hoping they would be made easier with him out of the way. I can't recall the civil issues as this was 25 or so years ago. The guy and girl were both defiant even in the face of prison time for him contending that their love was real and trumped any law. The judge handling the criminal case disagreed.
As an unbelievable follow up, the guy went to prison for about five years, got out and the girl had turned 18+ by then and they got married. Last I heard they moved off and were still a couple, but that news is very old also, so I can't tell you what the long term story is.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

This case is odd also. The plaintiff and defendant actually agree on the actions. Evidence and testimony is irrelevant since they agree on that. Where they disagree is if these actions are against the law. There is case law supporting both sides. The judge has to make the call but hasn't yet in a few weeks time. Its a really, REALLY low priority case but the judge signed up for these type cases along with the serious ones also. A few weeks is nothing. I have seen them take a couple of years. Juvenile court judges are the worst.
