My uncle has a 3 inch mag Belgium made Browning with a vent rib FC barrel that he wants to sell. I have no need for it other than a safe queen. He is not sure what it is worth, so I am trying to help him out. It is a nice gun, clean barrel, smooth action, i would say it is 75% or better than other older Brownings I have seen. Thank you for your help.
$650

Are you asking for a price? I'm assuming 12 ga? 28" bbl?
I'd estimate $600-850, depending on buyer motivation and actual condition. I've seen them higher, but those aren't real prices people are paying IMO.

you don't see too many Belgium 3" mag 12ga. certainly not with the vent rib. if that's gun is all straight, then it's quite a find.... depending on which choke barrel it has. if you say it's a modified, then you have the perfect auto.
a lot of these turn out to be Japan models. or Japan models with different barrels, or similar. (not saying yours is). If it's legit and has a good choke (not cylinder) then this is awesome and I wish I had the money for it.

I have the gun and can answer questions and text pics if you want them. Best I can tell it is a 1964 3" magnum. Barrel says * special steel- which means a full choke. It is a 30 inch vent rib.
Says he will take $650 for it.
If interested send me a message.
Thank you to everyone for the help.

I've never seen Belgian models turn into Japanese models. I've seen plenty of mistaken identities by some. The stamps and serials are pretty definitive. There are probably as many 3" Belgian Guns around as Japanese guns. I'm not where I can check my records to source your year, but Browning is generally wrong on their Belgian info unless there's a date code in the serial already....which the mags may have...can't recall without looking at my source. Value is more dependent on condition and barrel length/choke than rib. A cylinder choke would probably be worth way more $ than any full choke in a 3" gun, due to scarcity AND usefulness these days. IC and Mod in <30" bring more $ than full and/or over 28". The market is some down right now, period. I meant the other way around... a Japan gun that someone tries to pass off as Belgium. It used to be popular to put gold triggers in guns that didn't come with them and then some people would just keep going from there.... not that it isn't obvious if you know what to look for. And I guess the choke issue is up to personal preference. I have never had any use for a straight cylinder barrel. I could totally get some use out of a modified or full choke though. I have a 2 3/4 full choke 12ga auto5 now. Belgium, 1962. it's a full choke so I use it for turkey and crow. perfect gun for both. I have never needed a cylinder, though I understand that to a collector, the rarity may raise value. to me, it would be less. If wasn't about to drop money on a new truck, I would be coming to look at this gun. It sounds like what I really would have bought instead of the 12ga that I have (If it had been in front of me at the time).
