hey guys, im looking at going this weekend. launching out of howtons. im looking at some maps of valley creek and there are some side sloughs that cut off and look like you can get into them but i dont know how deep they are or if you can even get into them. anyone know these places? anyone willing to share any post spawn crappie spots?

Would be a lot better off going to frileys or short creek. All those pockets you are are pretty shallow.

Thanks! I've caught a few bass in frileys. Haven't tried the post spawn crappie up here. Have you done much up river like white branch and the areas around there?

Yes. They have pulled out on the very ends of the tops and on the creek channel ledges.

Thanks buddy. I knew the spawn was over but I'm used to knowing places to fish down south. We caught a nice mess last weekend down off middle river. Here's to hoping we can find some saturday

do you do any fishing mid day - the evening? i wanted to go early but the babysitter backed out do they dive deep or just slow down?

Daylight til about 10 unless it's cloudy is what the bite has been up our way.
