Heading back bankhead I had few come close yesterday.

Headed to one of my favorite spots this cold morning... hoping for some luck. Been a very hard season. Didn't remember turkey hunting being this hard.

About to leave the house, called 3 in yesterday afternoon and another member killed the lead bird. We were trying to double, but the other 2 didn't hang around no time at all. Headed back to the same place but the other side in a minute.

Headed out to try and even the score with an old bird that's been whipping my arse the last couple mornings that I've hunted.... Now that I think about it, I would have to kill him 3 times this morning just to get even!! Good luck to all!

I've been takin Fridays off to hunt but the rain this week has put me behind. I'll have to wait till tomorrow to get after them. Good luck guys. Post pics.

At my listening spot waiting for one to sound off.

Been at my listening spot less than 10 minutes and already heard 30+ gobbles. Maybe I can make one act stupid.

I am headed to work.

I have 3 that are tearing the woods up. I set my stopwatch on my phone and counted gobbles for 5 minutes. There was 28. I'm guessing I've heard somewhere between 100-120 gobbles this morning. That's 10 times what I've heard all year, total.

They are with hens. On the ground and still gobbling but moving away from me. Maybe one will remember me and come back.

Three strategies

1) hope one breaks off and comes to you

2) Circle and try to get where the hens are headed

3) bust them up and wait for a while and call between the directions they went

Front porch scouted & found a target for in the morning... If I can somehow make it to him thru the thick chit, he should meet his doom tomorrow morning... I can't wait

Gobbled good in the tree. Not so much on the ground. Had to leave for Dr. appt and wouldn't you know it, had two that hadn't said a word all morning slipping towards me down the hill. Couldn't see them till I had taken 10 steps. 5 more minutes and I would have been standing on one of their noggins.

I did re learn that I am very much a novice and don't know a dern thing about a turkey.

Will try it again on Sunday I guess.
