Early this morning as the storms were about to role back in. (after the first round that came before sunrise). Driving to work I saw a couple of turkeys in a field. this one had a nice spot. never seen one perch like this before! Haha!

Pretty scene, though.

About 10 years ago I saw the same thing. 3 gobblers with a bunch of hens in a hay pasture and 2 of them strutted on haybales for most of the morning.

Cool!

Several years ago I heard one gobbling near an old share croppers shack.

I got closer and he was gobbling and strutting all through the shack including the front porch.

When he strutted into the back room I slipped up to the shack and shot him through the front door.

Given time and no pressure they will be nesting in your front yard.

They make pretty good pets.

I guess a haybale is a little more sturdy in this wind!

I've seen several on hay bales, but I've never shot one that was inside a house. That's pretty cool!

Jeff Foxworthy said you might be a redneck if you have ever shot a deer from inside your house. I'm not sure what he would say if you've ever shot a turkey IN a house. smile
