first congrats. That is a fine fish, esp for a fly rod. My guess would be over 15, prolly just over 20#.
Where did you catch it??

First one I caught on a fly was at night slow crawling a deerhair bug across the surface. It blew up on the fly maybe a rods length from the boat..12 pounds. Have caught em to 20 pounds below Logan Martin Dam in turbine water. We'd put a float on the anchor line and untie to chase em. Used to catch em in winter above the dam on the intake grate, best was 22# on fly. Great fly rod fish they are!!!!!
Used big clousers in chartreuse over white with some glitter and barbelll eyes. Also big Lefties Deceivers, and some left coast tuna/wahoo flies.

Hard to tell a stripers weighh from a pic. I have pics of me with weighed 20 pounders that look 12 lbs. I'm not even gonna throw a guess out there. Get you a scale and just weigh your fish.
Yeah c’mon. Daniel White
