booner OP 6 point Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 1,190 AL	Headed up there this weekend to do some fishing. I have never been and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on to what they are doing and biting this time of year. Plus a tip or two on where to start wouldn't hurt but I will settle for any help I get.

Peach 10 point P Joined: Mar 2014 Posts: 2,643 Florida	We used to own a cabin on the water at Miller's Ferry. Right now the bass should be biting good around the slough that the marina is on. Crankbaits in the open water and pitch around the docks. The riprap around the lock and dam is good this time of year as well. Crappie may be biting in Mill Creek with all the warm weather we are having.

Don't run outside the river channel if you've never been before, even if it looks like wide open water. Depth can go from 50 ft to 2 ft quick in places and lots of big stumps just under surface.

I'd be using a DT16 or a football jig. For the spots shaky head with 4" green pumpkin senko. Thomas Jefferson.
