I don't give a damn how old you are, if your parents raised you right, you love Lynyrd Skynyrd !!

My mom ran pool halls and beer joints back in the 70's so yes I was exposed to tons of Skynrd

I went to my first Skynard concert in my mom's tummy when they played Atlanta and recorded the famous "Play it pretty for Atlanta."

In my opinion this was the best song Ronnie wrote. It reminds me so much of my mother and the things she told me about when I was growing up. She was right about everything too.

Mama told me when I was young
"Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this it'll help you some sunny day"

"Oh, take your time, don't live too fast
Troubles will come and they will pass
You'll find a woman and you'll find love
And don't forget, son, there is someone up above"

"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"

"Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied"

"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"

Oh yes, I will

"Boy, don't you worry, you'll find yourself
Follow your heart and nothing else
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try
All that I want for you, my son, is to be satisfied"

"And be a simple kind of man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby be a simple kind of man
Oh, won't you do this for me, son, if you can"

Baby, be a simple, really simple man
Oh, be something you love and understand

Ronnie wrote a ton of absolute wonderful songs. Hard to pick one true favorite for me.

I agree with "Simple Man" that's what I mean by, if you grew up in the 70's with parents that taught you right, you had to love'em. There will never be anyone like Ronnie and the crew. They had a style that cannot be reproduced or their sound.

If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.

Played in a band in high school. Has a 72 fender precision bass. Man I miss that guitar.
Anyway, for three guys we played Tuesday's Gone pretty damn good.
Wasn't easy being a Skynyrd fan living in Chicago.

@toothdoc, "One more....." was THE best live album ever.

Chicago,the cesspool of society.
