It must be ...somebody just bought some in Scottsboro for 111 million!

The average citizen is not going to buy land from TVA.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I growed up hunting on tva land all up and down the river. theys deer on some of it but the tva does nothing management wise and don't do really anything accept maybe bush hog and mowe. its also a breeding ground for privet... lots and lots and lots of privet, and poison briars and all sorts of worthless garbage. some of the porrest habitat for well anything accept maybe a possum ive ever seen. some is not so bad, but most of it sucks. ive tried talkin to them but they are so "underfunded" they cant afford to pay somebody to manage the land. bellfonte and the land surrounding it was probly some of the best that was left, but as far as I know none of that land was ever able to be hunted by the public. daddy told me stories about the bellfonte hunting club that used to be up there years ago. but idont know much about that.

TVA is in the power business and not deer management. I don't want my electric bill going up in order for them to plant food plots.

I got in on some of the Bellefonte archery draw hunts and killed a few deer back in the early 90s and killed a few deer. Hunters registered, names were chosen by drawing from a hat in the early days and by computer lottery later on. Seems like there was a limit of 50 hunters for each hunt. There never was a Bellefonte Hunting Club on TVA property, only draw hunts and archery only. There may have been a club on nearby private land that carried that name.

Yeah it wouldnt have been on tva just nearby and dang i never about that lotto stuff thats pretty dang cool, i just wish theyd maybe do like alabama power or corps of engineer, and attempt to do something the corps is as broke as tva and they still manage pretty well. And alabama power has their own forstry and wildlife improvement division. Trust me your bill wont go up because of that.... It will go up for a host of other reasons. If belfonte did fire up your bill would more than likely go down considerably, but wed have to live knowin if they ever blew up welll...

Although they don't manage the land for hunting, TVA land over here in Muscle Shoals can produce some monsters. Place is eat up with privet hedge. This buck was off a trail camera someone put up on TVA Reservation land over here. No hunting is allowed, to my knowledge, on any TVA owned land over here as it is all considered reservation land or within city limits with no hunting laws established.

Dang thats a purty deer, ive heard of big deer and my dad killed a 154in 10 pt off some tva land in the 70s. I live in marshall county and in places the numvers are not exceedingly high anyway so what deer hold around here struggle. Now thats not to be said about places over around parches cove and honeycomb or louis mountain(all places still covered with deer) i guess what im sayin is we just dont see deer here like we used to. An whats here seem like theyve become nocturnal.

Shoals TVA land definitely has some real good bucks. A few years ago a Muscle Shoals city cop got in some trouble for killing a nice buck, seems like off 2nd Street, in the city limits, on TVA land.

The year after year doe slaughter is the main contributor to numbers being down. A couple of years ago the DCNR biologist even came forward and said Marshall County numbers were down to 1980s numbers. You can't continuously kill all the mama deer and grow more deer.

Yeh thats what ive been told as well, i dont hunt much around here anymore, but i keep cameras out. I mean i get pictures of deer but theyre usually the same ones over and over. Whrn i was a little kid in late 90's and early 2000's it seemed like you couldnt drive up the road without fear of hittin a deer now i dont hardly ever see deer crossin the road or eatin in any of the ag fields like i used to. Maybe it will get better, an im not even gonna get started on turkeys

You right he did.

There was a video going around Facebook back in December of 2 bucks fighting 10 yards off 2nd Street in broad daylight as traffic passes by. Buddy saw a giant by the road last Saturday night in that same area.

I hunt TVA behind Honeycomb...You are lucky to see 6 deer all year. A good deer there is 14 inch wide 8 point if that. We have private land that joins it and we plant 2 small plots and the cams don't lie. 5 years of that garbage and sick of it. Good thing we are buying a farm in Kentucky this summer!

I hear ya. I'm about fed up with my hunting properties in North Bama myself. Not buying any land, but I am planning on spending the out of state license for TN's '17-'18 deer season and checking out some of their public areas. Can't be any worse than what I'm doing here, and same drive time to get there.
