What is the going rate for hunting land in the Athens, Decatur area? Does anyone know how good the deer are?South side of the river across from Browns Ferry Nuclear plant area or so.
If an opportunity to hunt some rarely hunted land in that area came to you, would you jump on it?
It appears to be great looking Midwest style hunting.

Doesn't matter what the price is someone else will pay it if you dont. There's a good bit of deer in that area I'd be interested in joining

I took the dogs and squirrel hunted mallard fox creek this afternoon. It was loaded with deer sign. It's bow only and a short season so I don't know how hard it gets hunted.
"Deer hunting used to be the pinacle of hunting-what you graduated to after learning to hunt small game. Trying to throw a kid into stand hunting, without having ever learned to HUNT is probably an effort in fultility." BSK

You don't want to know... It is high as a kite. Average acre price, club I'm on now is in walker county, and my knee can't take the hills. Think it's about $10 an acre there.
