I bought an el cheapo on sale at Walmart for $45 the other day.

Don`t want to derail but do anybody have/use a ghost blind?

I'm not a little guy and it's pretty full when I'm in there. Says it's a 2 man blind but the 2nd man would have to be a little feller. Got it for 1) rainy day hunting and 2) to set up in a hedge row to watch a field.

I have several Ameristeps and Barronett. Both are solid. We have a couple with velcro and just leave them open instead of that "crunch" sound each time

to hunt out of the pop up blinds is really great if you use a short gun . lot of difference in a rem 700 7mag with a 26" barrel and a H&R single shot with a 20" barrel . almost a foot difference .

I've been tempted to try it, but just can't allow myself to do it.

The same here, I guess I would try it on a close shot bow hunting, but I usually just set it up somewhere good for rifle use and leave the windows open. One little tip I picked up was to use liquid electrical tape on the seams on the inside of the pop up. It has worked wonders in reducing water from getting in. Sure they say they are rain proof, but as most know, they all aren't that way.

I can most definitely assure you they are not waterproof. Mine has little pockets on the inside that I keep some extra tent stakes in. When I sat in mine the other day I thought one of those pockets would make a convenient place to put my phone. I slipped my phone in it and when I reached in a little while later to check the time, I stuck my hand down into a pocket full of water. Somehow, the phone survived. I guess an Otterbox does work.

Got in my blind when it was 20 degrees and the pockets were a solid chunk of ice. Got the ice out and used my pocket knife and cut a small hole in these pockets to drain any water that gets in them
