Do groups of turkey bump deer out of preferred areas and vice versa, or do they coexist in perfect harmony?

Probably something in between. I know some deer can be territorial like an old doe.

they rarely fight over sleeping areas though.

Well, I was walking through the woods one day and heard a buck grunt from up in a tree. Once heard two fighting in a tree too.

Deer are often territorial with other deer. Turkeys are often territorial with other turkeys. Are deer and turkeys territorial with each other? I don't think so at all. My best turkey hunting land is also my best deer hunting land. I've seen deer and turkeys on fields together.

I have seen a boss hen run up on and cackle a doe and yearling off that were munching on a dark green patch in a hay field i was hunting. I don't think it was "territory" more than whatever the patch of green was it must have been tastey because the doe and yearling stuck around until the turkeys left and went straight back.... wish i would have been smart enough to find out what was growing there.

They share territory, even the same cornpile at times. But they will show aggression towards each other on occassion. And turkeys are too noisy for deer sometimes.

That dark green spot was no doubt Ryegrass.

Bucks, and deer in general aren't territorial; with the exception of does and their fawning areas. They will fight and spar (horn to horns, or use their hooves for does and bucks in velvet) over food sources. Its usually about the food or does to breed; not the real estate.

I haven't read anything on turkeys being territorial, but they sure will light one up over food or hens during breeding.
