Near our camp I've seen a couple of pretty big portable buildings. They are bigger than I ever imagined for this type of structure, approximately 14x40. Do any of you guys have one of these set up for a camp house or know of any? My son and his family are outgrowing their camper and he's leaning toward one of these buildings to finish the inside the way he wants. I'm just trying to get an idea of quality and price. And FWIW there is a Graceland dealer near our camp. I've looked at their website, construction video, etc. When I looked at their prices it's obvious that they REALLY screw a feller on rent to own so IF he does this he will buy it outright.

Any real life experience info appreciated.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I had one at a place about 15 years ago. It was 12x30 I think. I built a bathroom and a kitchen on one side. Didn't have a bedroom, bpjust bunks on the other end. I liked it and should have moved it with me.

Get them to look at a job site trailer or an older single wide. You can pretty much get one of them cheaper. We have a job spite trailer we built into a cabin now.

Oh Lawd. A fellow could buy a decent house trailer and have it set up for about 1/3 of that and not have to do any modification to it.

I'm thinking bout doing the same thing. We may be moving to a different campsite for our club and I might sell my travel trailer and buy a portable building to replace it. My reasons are minimum maintenance, tin roof versus crappy rubber roof, leaks, more wide open space, a nice covered porch for muddy gear and the list goes on. I was thinking I could get a 10'x30' done and furnished for around $10k doing the work myself of course.

Check craigslist, I've seen a few that are already done or close to done for like $8k.

A guy I was in a hunting club with bought a simple 10x12 backyard storage shed and fixed the interior up to his liking and had less than 3k total in it. That included a quik-crete slab to sit it on. He built bunk beds and ran power to it and it was quite comfortable. A lot depends on one's personal preference but it can be done.

WHEW!!! That's what I was thinking Brad! My son will probably have a $5 or $6K finished building limit.

This is exactly his situation and what he intends to do.

We have one that is going on 15-16 years now.
It's holding up well and we like it.
Gonna be 5 in it this weekend.

I've looked at the Cotton States side lofted barns. They have a pretty big loft on both ends that will each hold a queen sized bed and room for gear. Wide open on the bottom.

Had a buddy bought a 12x28 from a guy in Andalusia and fixed it up. I think he had about $7k in it. Problem was he does not stay in a club very long before he moves on. He has to pay a mover every time he relocates. I like wheels on my crib.

One of my uncle's friends had a 12x24 he finished. Two bunk beds, gas heater and stove, sink, cabinets, table/chairs. He had a major back surgery, got out of hunting, and long story short I wound up with it and everything in it for free. I put it in the corner of a crop field next to our pole barn. I never stay in it but a recliner pulled up to the window makes a heck of a treestand thumbup

The building itself run close to $14k. No doubt, a trailer or camper is cheaper. First thing you need to do is put a top over either one.....I've had both, they gonna leak. Good luck
