I hunted Bullock Sunday pm and Monday am. Saw bucks both days. None were chasing but they are starting to get up and move. Haven't gotten any daylight buck pics but saw some fresh scrapes last week. Should be catching them just before they peak but you should see some action.

We are in south montgomery county and we have seen young bucks, basket rack 8's pushing doe in the food plots. Had two bucks killed who had black tarsals and swollen necks. Also, talked to Taylors processing and they said they gutted 26 bucks on Saturday and 23 of them didnt have any hair left on their inner thighs from breeding. But with the warm weather approaching, it may get knocked back down in a hurry.

Our club has land in Montgomery, Pike and Coffee counties and up till last weekend only one buck had been killed. They killed 5 bucks last weekend. Man, I am getting excited about this more and more. Glad I posted here, was really worried weather would mess us up.

I used to hunt east montgomery county and they should be wide open right now. Sit all day, hunt as often as you can.

FWIW - We just had our Lion's Club Charity deer hunt. Had 45 guys hunt Thursday afternoon thru this morning- Saturday. That is roughly 180 "sits" in the woods not counting the 20 guides/ landowners hunting. Properties in every county contiguous to Montgomery plus Wilcox/ Lowndes. only 3 bucks taken. none of much size, maybe a dozen does. One of the 3 bucks was chasing in Bullock south of Union Springs. Others walking alone. Think the moon/ heat were probably factors. Got a report this morning that small bucks were running does in Central Barbour co. My point would be with that many sets of eyes in the woods in a short timeframe, lack of activity( chasing) by bucks may mean it "ain't on" yet around here.
UPDATE: one more buck taken this morning in Lowndes.
