Gonna buy me a few new things before next year one is a pair or two of wool base layer long johns. The other is the warmest quietest outer layer I can find. Water proof is really not a concern just warm and quiet. What is the best thing out there.

I'm partial to Cabelas clothing, and right now they have a deep sale on lots of them. Look at the Stand Hunter base layers if you truly want insanely warm ones. As for outer layers, they have tons of options (look at the Instinct lines). I bought some of the ECWCS base layers earlier this year, and the Rush Creek pants/jacket. I have been 101% satisfied with all of it.

If you are bowhunting, I don't recommend the Cabelas "Silent Suede" line. Nice jacket, but too noisy for my liking.

Great info. Very important, as we all know, for bow hunting outters to be quiet. I like this thread. Hope we have some good feedback.

Rivers West, they are fairly expensive but well worth it.

I have had parka made but russell that I love. Really quiet and water resistant as well. This is my 11th season hunting with the jacket and haven't had the first problem. As far as long johns, look at the ua 4.0's

I can't recommend any particular brand but if it's something made out of fleece you will be happy.

Check out Berber fleece with windstop at Cabelas. As with anything else layering is the trick to being warm at any temps.

I just bought a set of Arctic Shields Bibb and Jacket! Its quite and lightweight but its not as warm as my Mountain Stalker elite coveralls from Bass pro! The quality of the Arctic shield is not what i expected with the zippers and jacket seems small for the sizing. The problem with the newer version of bass pros Mountain stalker elite coveralls and bibs is the zipper in legs are not full length and make hard to get on with boots....not sure why they stopped putting full length zippers in them?

I'll second Rivers West. I bought the bibs last year and they are good quality, warm and quiet.

This yr I also bought the cabelas Berber fleece with windstopper pants and 1/4" pullover and it is quiet as well.

I haven't bow hunted with them, but typical movement doesn't seem noisy at all. I'd also recommend looking into icebreaker for merino wool base layers. It's expensive but they had a killer sale at the begining of the season and I stocked up on a few things.

It's kinda noisy, but I bowhunt in mine with no issues. It's waterproof and windproof. I don't wear it unless it's really cold. I didn't wear it this afternoon. I've started doing some experimenting with clothing and it's worked pretty well.

I've never seen anyone complain about Artic Shield clothing.

Yea I thought I might find some sales here at end of season. Found the Arctic Shield H3 on sale real tree AP for $219 or Max5 for $180 for bibs and parka which seems to be a great price for the set.
