RR I took a deep breath very refreshing maybe we all should try this more often, While I was taking deep breath I went back and read all comments , the one thing that popped out at me there was no H20 EXPRESS BAITCAST reels on your repair list, I'm taking another fresh breath and that is all I have to say about reels

Probably because H20 makes up less then a 1/2 percent of the reel population. I can go back further and give a long list of H20 breakage reports. But it ain't worth the effort.

And with all that said my post was because someone asked my opinion about baitcasters and I gave it. If I was bashing any reel it was a DAIWA not your H20'S. But heck what do I know about reels because I only see a few hundred a month.

And that's all I got to say about reels

Until next time anyway

Lew's is supposedly doing a redesign on the Bass Pro reels. New models come out in the Spring. Haven't had any probs with my Pro Qualifiers or Signature Series. Most of my reels are Shimano CU-200's. Never any issues with them.

The cookie cutters I mean Lews are redesigning them. They are already decent reels for the money just like the H20 ,Pinnacle and a few others.
The CU 200 and 100 are to me the best all around reels ever made.

Where the he11 you been Willie?

Around. Started posting again a while back. Wish I had seen you were doing reels. Just sent (8) Curados to a guy to get straightened out.

Whats funny is a $25 reel is the same price as a spool of good braid! Not saying its a bad reel and 99% of them are made in Asia and many are rebranded so worth a gamble I guess.

Just like cars, reels are cheap to super expensive. A geo metro has 4 tires and gets you from a to b just like a Ferrari it all depends what you want.

I like Ferrari's. laugh

I think the price break for a good reel is around $100. Anything below that typically isn't built to last very long.

EDIT: Rat, which model BPS reels you seeing? I've had really good luck with their Pro Qualifier and the Johnny Morris Signature reel.

The Carbon Lite reel they make isn't very good. I'd stay away from that one for sure.

We see all makes and models of BPS reels but the pro Qualifier and JM reels are somewhat better. Only because of having bearings instead of bushings.

I love my $160 Johnny Morris Signature reel.

I also picked up a couple of the cheap Silver Max, Garcia's to flip with. I like how you can re-engage the spool with one hand when flipping/pitching like the old Castaics. They are only $60 and I don't expect much from them. You know anything about em?

Me neither but my son wanted a combo they had for his birthday. I'll have to say it's one sweet set up and is smooth as silk.

Im a shimano guy. Mostly curado e series, some citicas and a few chronarch. I got a few lews I've had good luck with. My partner bought a bunch of abu's revos one time and had nothing but problems. I've always heard good things about those H2o reels, I mean on sale at $25 bucks if it lasted one year it would be worth that.
