Congrats to the deer and yote killers!

Got my son with me this evening in Baldwin co. Only the second sit of gun season. Weather is almost perfect. Sitting on a 1-acre plot with 5-year old pine thicket on 3-sides. Field is starting to green up. Lots of sign in the area.

Good luck to everyone!

Congrats to the today's killers!!!

I'm set up between a green field and an old homeplace this afternoon. There's two fresh scrapes by this old house and I'm hoping a big buck will come check the scrapes before dark!

Good luck!

Finally seen some deer this morning. 4 big does but it was to clod for me to take my hands outa my bibs so they all got a pass. Doing my part to increase the population I'm Monroe co. Someone must be burning a clearcut north of me this afternoon. Smoke is tough.

Nothing to shoot, but saw 3 does and found a big grouping of rubs with fresh poop. Wish I had been there this morning...

I've enjoyed seeing deer consistently now!

Spike, 4-point, does and fawns. Saw a total of 10 deer. Very quite afternoon as we didn't hear a single shot.

15, does, fawns, and a spike. The most deer I have ever seen on this property in 25 years. 5 of them within 10 yards. Great day.

I saw 3 coons and some turkeys, but no deer this afternoon.

My Dad killed a good sized bobcat this afternoon

Anybody know of a taxidermist near Cullman that does a good job on bobcats?

Sat this morning in Coosa county watching a saddle. Nothing to see, left at 10. Warmed up at home for a few hours and decided to head out closer to home around 2. Took my portable tri-pod and found a freshly trimmed power line. Tucked up on the edge of it and sat. Had 4 hens come from behind me and cross at 15 yards. Pretty sure more stayed behind. I think I heard 2 fly up or away behind me. Then just before light ran out, I heard lot's of rustling across the clearing about 50 yards away. 10 minutes later as the chill started to set in, 2 medium sized does and 3 older fawns stepped out. I was toting the crossbow and mostly just hunt to hunt, so I passed on a few 30 yard shots they offered. I decided to wait and see if a buck might be following. Then when they stepped into the trees on my side, something told me they might come up the hill behind me. Well, one of them did and I thought she was going to walk right up to me to see what I was. That was the reason she came up the hill. She stood there stomping her feet and looking right at me at 15 yards. I was really tempted to swing and let one fly, but I still have the deer from last year in the freezer and she was not very big. It was a great evening experience for me!!
