What's the going rate for a skid steer forestry muncher?

Mark Knight in Alex City has a smaller bobcat and charges 60/hr

Guy in Walker County charges 90 or 100 can't remember but them things can do some damage quick .

The one that's skidder mounted is a wickedly bad ass machine! even the skid steer version is a mean dude.

Usually 100-120/hr, with a 3-5hr minimum

A few years back my inlaws had about 3 acres done in Elmore county by a local guy and he charged $120/hr and it took him roughly 2 days to finish. The only problem with mulching is if not sprayed the land will only come back thicker.

I not sure if your asking per hour or how much a new one cost. The hourly rate depends on what kind of setup they have. If it's a high flow skid steer and a liscensed guy that knows what he's doing it's going to be $90-120. If you want someone with a bush cutter to knock down some stuff and leave it rough looking you can get someone to do that for $ 60+. If you need A LOT of land cleared you can get someone to come in with one of these
and do it quickly for a decent chunk of money.
If your asking what they cost new they are anywhere beteeen 22k- 35K depending on what size and brand.

My dad does it around the Lawrence, Colbert, Morgan county, and surrounding North Ala areas and charges $100-125/hr depending on the size of the job. That's running a tracked high flow 94hp Cat skid steer and 6ft mulcher head

This sounds like the size job we just had done. It took about 2 days at $125/hr

Dang you boys are lucky I was going to have 27 acres cleared that was in CRP. It had grown up with trees and brush you couldn't walk through it. It was going to be 300 per hours they could give me a time frame on how long it would take till they started in on it. You couldn't use a dozer it would take to much top soil with it. It is clay. I made a deal with the one guy who was also a farmer. He cleared it for free for 2 years free cash rent. Tillable goes for 250 per acre cash rent.

Knowing what these machines cost and how much it cost to run one, these guys doing it for $125 and less must like working for free and not have insurance, license, and everything else you need to run a small business the right way.

In central Alabama Gobbler is the man you need to get with. They have two machines on forestry based machines and they get chit done. They have done 50-60 hours worth for us over the last 18 months and it looks great.

Guys running below 125/hr wont be around long and you should probably inquire about insurance for someone that cheap. I run my own forestry mulching company and my hourly rate is 150/hr with an 8 hour minimum. I only charge machine hours. My operating cost are higher than what some people charge. , But I run the most efficient 7ft head on the market and a 110hp cat compact track loader.
