Maybe that's the only time they had to scout. Who knows? It's public land so expect the unexpected. I have hunted the National Forests with no interruptions but I could see where a problem could occur. Good luck with It!

I for the most part hunt public land in the state. It has become a common occurrence to see or have people walk by whether scouting or walking out of the woods late in the evening just before sunset. This past Saturday I had a couple walking around at 5:15 scouting. I understand " it's public land and that's going to happen " but I'd expect it first thing in the morning or going in mid afternoon. What happened to common sense while in the woods? hunt public land long enough and you will see enough stupid, crazy, dangerous, illegal stuff that you will just be glad its only hunters and not meth cooks or drunks you see coming. sometimes it will even work out to your favor when they run one on you.
Go with the flow and you will end up down the drain!

I rarely see anyone where I hunt on public land. Same here. I may pass a truck or two on the way in but I never see anyone.

Welcome to the forum backwater. bead is an idot that prefers dove hunting to bow hunting ! I feel your pain, common sense is not common among many Bama hunters. Theirs is a different breed from a person that prefers bowhunting instead of slinging lead. I would have been tempted to test fire an arrow into the ground. Just because you are using public land does not make it alright to be an azzhole. BEETLEBUTT he didn't open an account to be abused by an azzhole either. Get a life, go dove hunting.

The common perception is that private land is void of stuff like this; I assure you, it is not. This week alone, I had to whistle at a dude waltzing his happy ass onto my land & remind him a) it's private/posted land & b) it's deer season. He was cool about it, but most people get their laced underwear in a wad -- which blows my mind, but I digress. Public or private, learn to find spots that are isolated & as remote as possible; if you're seeing people, you're not deep enough IMO.
