But as soon as the police have to shoot the thieving perp, that same sorry, BLM pos will protest the police.
Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death! - Patrick Henry

I've been told that the saying is actually " eat your cake and have it too" due to the fact that you can have your cake and then you can eat it but not visa versa. Probably the most misquoted saying there is.

You cant have it AND eat it. If you eat it, it gone. Key word being AND.
From wikipedia
The proverb literally means "you cannot simultaneously retain your cake and eat it". Once the cake is eaten, it is gone. It can be used to say that one cannot or should not have or want more than one deserves or can handle, or that one cannot or should not try to have two incompatible things.
