Looks like I may finally be getting out of Central Florida. Gonna need to be near the Mobile area and was thinking probably Baldwin co., Bay Minette, Spanish Fort area, above I-10. Born and raised in Pell City so its still new to me. Been down here in Florida for 15 years. Whats it like living in Baldwin County? Schools, houses, huntn, fishn, weather, etc.....

Depending on your price range, houses in Spanish Fort can be hard to find. When we were looking last year we'd find 6 or 7 in Daphne for every one in Spanish Fort.

We typically stay off the Bayway (I-10) from May 1st to September 31st when going to Mobile or coming back.

Depends entirely on where you will be working. Traveling across the bay at rush hour with everybody else can be an exercise in madness. My wife's company recently took on some work down there so she's been in the Eastern Shore area a good bit lately. Everyone there told her the same thing, that the commute across the bay was a nightmare. She experienced it several times and said it was nowhere as bad as Birmingham traffic. I guess it all depends on what you're used to.

If schools are a concern, might want to look south of I-10. Bay Minette (BCHS) is the black sheep of the Baldwin County schools. All the others are pretty good schools.

I live in Spanish Fort, two young kids in the school district. We love it. Shoot me a pm if I can help you or answer any questions. Also, let me be the first to invite you to church when you get here. East Pointe Baptist on 225.

I'm a part time Baldwin county residence and work quite often in Mobile. When we do make Baldwin county our permanent residence with me working in Mobile county we would look into Spanish Fort, Fairhope and Daphne. Besides working in these towns we have very dear and near friends that have made it their home in the past several years so it's almost like being a local when we aren't in OB. I also inspect all public schools in Alabama and Baldwin county is one of the best school systems in the state.

The greater metropolis that is Seminole should be on your list.
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Second Robertsdale, and recommend Silverhill. Grew up there, and while the doors had locks there was no reason to carry a key. Neighbors might need something.

No man come to Orange Beach, put some local stuff on your bumper and claim the beach as your home. Just kidding but damn I see it everyday, they usually last a year or two, get divorced and move back home.

Fairhope is nice. Got a co-worker that lives in Silverhill and really likes it.

Elsanor, Stockton, Semenhole, Phillipsville,Perdido, Whitehouse Forks....good country living. I spent a lot of years south of I-10 but it just got too crowded down there for me. Elsanor Elementary, CBMS, and Rdale high schools are some of the best anywhere unless you have a good football player you're raising up. The deer are small down this way though. If you want bigger deer, go north.
