I did. I kept asking why the hell anybody would duck hunt instead of deer hunt. Then I went duck hunting one time...

I was the exact same way. I was a hardcore deer hunter, still love it, but that used to be all I did. I had a buddy who had such a passion for duck hunting that I thought it was insane and a little bit weird. He begged me to go with him all the time and I'd say nah I'd rather go to the deer woods. I finally went with him one morning forever ago and that was all it took. I now understand his crazed obsession. I almost hate him for it.

Matter of fact, hunting and fishing both have become so commercialized that it's just not the same any more. The attitudes of the crowd that fish and hunt are even different now. It used to be that folks would share info and observe good sportsmanship while in the blind, on the water or even up a tree. Those days are gone forever. I just don't understand it

I remember IDOT and a lot of others on there. Was the first board I would check in the am. Went to hell in a hand basket with the influx of "affluence" kids and their expensive toys. Try to give someone advice, heads up, or whatever and get slammed. Classifieds got so bad of ppl bashing product or price that asmin cut it to only a PM response. I understand what happened, but it sux. I loved that site.

I used to be an avid member also. But it went to pot.

In my opinion aldeer is headed in the same direction if they don't do some culling.

I too was a DEER hunter until I made a trip to Kansas turkey hunting and our guide talked me and a buddy of mine to come back to duck hunt. BAD mistake now I cant shake the need to be in a blind. I would not consider myself a DUCK hunter maybe a duck hunter in training. All the duck sites are dead, Ducks Unlimited shut down their forums all others I have looked at get 1-2 post a month. It is hard to get advice for a 48yr old rookie duck hunter any where any more. But I still love it

I've duck hunted all my life. But I really believe duck dynasty and rich daddy's have ruined the duck hunting in Jackson county

We'll glad to know I'm not the only one. I thought I might have gotten soft.

The little booger eating Duck Dynasty Daddy bought me a mud motor crowd has only temporarily run me off. I'll be back. I ain't selling a single deke.

I don't hear much chatter on here either. Duck hunting had changed with other forms of social media

I haven't been in about three years. But I've already got the boat ready for teal season.

People should post more up in the waterfowl forum. You best believe when I start killing em I'll be posting pics

yea, I still have the gear packed away for a special day and I'd drop everything for the right phone call telling me where the ducks are and the DD crowd isn't wink

how do ya like that layout boat? My buddy had one and he loves it. I don't hunt divers enough to justify buying one. I hunt more flooded timber than anything

I love it. It's actually a Beavertail 1200. I don't hunt divers at all. We use ours to shove in the water off the side of the road and paddle up into weeds or cat tails. You can get places with them that most boats can't.

I have met some of the best guys anyone could meet through Alducks and Ducksouth. I have had the great privilege to hunt with a lot of them and have made some great friends along the way. Because of a bunch of those goobers on Ducksouth, I feel right at home whenever I find myself in the Mississippi delta. They took in this Albanian and treated me as one of their own. For that I will always be grateful.

I used to get on that site all the time,it was comical,I too got into duck hunting 2 years pre- duck dynasty...Enjoyed the hell out of duck hunting too!! I knew things were getting out if hand the day I walked into Prattville Academy, the damn wader aisle was slam full of folks, boxes all in floor it was a mess.I walked down a few aisles and low and behold theres a youngster (18-19 maybe) he's blowing the hell out of a duck call, then he puts it back in plastic and "PUTS IT BACK ON THE SHELF" then grabs another one and does the same thing!! I couldn't belive it
