Guys..I'm interested in going on a hunt either in Saskatchewan or Alberta in 2017.I would appreciate any info or recommendations on outfitters that y'all may have used in the past..Thanks One of our outfitters on here had a post about a multiple species hunt in Alberta a few weeks ago. I bet he responds when he sees this. As I recall the cost was in the neighborhood of 6K for several species. From Big Game Hunter: 7-days Fully Guided Meals, Lodging, in-field transport 1 bull elk 2 black bears 2 deer (either whitetail or mule deer) Realistic expectation would be to take an elk, 1 bear and 1 mule deer Elk will be 270" - 320" Mule deer will be 140" - 160" Bear will be 6' +/- Mid-september (during full rut) Rifle, Muzzle-loader, or archery $6,500 (2016) price

Thanks Jaw.
I also have a great guy in Southeastern Alberta. I'll have to confirm pricing and details but I think the cost is about $5000 for the hunt. It's a 1x1 fully guided hunt they includes meals, lodging, tags, license, airport pickup, etc. Unless they've changed things, you can only hunt Wednesday - Saturday in that part of the province. He's near 100% success rate on his hunts. Bucks will be 145" and up.
If you are interested I'll give him a call and confirm things.
I've hunted Saskatchewan A LOT and I never found a great whitetail outfitter. Most all of them take you to a cut line before daylight and put you in a box blind and then pick you up after dark. Success rates aren't typically great either. Deer sightings can be low and it will be a miserable hunt due to the weather. It's just not my preferred way of hunting. If you are stuck on Saskatchewan, I'll make some calls and see if I can find a guy for you.

You can ship meat but it's expensive.
There are several ways to get trophies back. You can try and check them as checked bags but you may get a dickhead at checkin that won't allow them. Second and best choice is to skin and salt the hides and ship them to yourself.

I've flown with elk antlers, caribou antlers, grizzly bear skinned hides, etc. Its all in how you pack it and what you put it in. I flew with an antelope skull in my carry on from Alberta one time. I've also flown with bear skulls in my carry on.
