let them borrow something of value.
Several years ago I let a "friend" borrow a CZ 455 .22lr of mine and it was a hassle to get it back and when I finally did this rifle is thrashed.

It was caked in desert dust and scratches&gouges all over the stock.
Then he has the audacity to say he returned the magazines.

Sorry for the rant.

I don't like to loan stuff and I don't like to borrow stuff.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Same here. Especially guns. I've only loaned on rifle ever and that was to a guy in our hunting club who was hunting on one ridge and me on another. He returned it immediately after the hunt.

I have a Rem 600 in 6mmRem/2-7XLeupold scope that I have had loaned out for many years more than I have had it in my possession over the last 40 years. I loan it for kids to hunt with as it has a shortened stock and 18" barrel. Prolly 10-12 kids have killed their first deer with it.

I have never gotten it back in anything but the condition it was in when loaned out.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

This was a sort of a similar thing, he was new to firearms, so I wanted to be a good friend...

Loaned my nephew a 20 ga shotgun 1 time to turkey hunt. After turkey season was over i asked for the gun back. Numerous attempts led to numerous excuses. I knew something was up. Well, couple weeks later i was in my buddies pawn shop and guess what i see hanging on the gun rail. I ask him who pawned it, sure enough, my nephew. He offered the gun back to me and file stolen police report where they could prosecute him. I said screw it.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I have signs on my tool boxes and gang boxes that say "You're welcome to borrow every tool you paid for". I don't borrow or lend.

You obviously don't know the entire story. Go back where you belong.
