Reminds me of the Tombigbee river bottoms that I hunted as a boy with my dad. Wherever it is, it's beautiful, just be sure to watch out for those nasty snakes.

I've always wanted to turkey hunt in a river swamp. Beautiful place!

You better be wearing snake boots and watching every step you take,I'm used to hunting pines, pastures, clearcuts and hardwoods creek bottoms so I'm looking for snakes but not real worried about seeing one, a few years ago we leased a place in Boligee on the river,I never owned a pair of snake boots before then but bought some as soon as I got home after the first weekend we hunted it,we walked up on a few cottonmouths and saw snakes about every time we hunted, that swamp was covered with them and you're more worried about the snakes then the turkeys,it's hard to enjoy hunting a place like that

Right on. Not exactly Millers Ferry. But the closest place to get a biscuit would probably be Camden. Knowing where to get a biscuit is important!

good looking woods. If that was in Arkansas that would be perfect green timber hunting

Ok. For a minute there I thought you were just piddling around on our place in Monroe co and found my big hardwood creek bottoms.

We used to hunt some of Mr. Bedsole's property right on the Alabama River in Gosport. It was some of the biggest, prettiest hardwoods I've ever stepped foot on.

That reminds me of a few places I found on the Lowndes County WMA. Jumped a few snakes as others have said. Also found a ton of hog sign around that area. Guess they liked the cool mud. Honestly saw more deer sign just up from it in the piney woods.

Looks like the river swamps on my buddy's place around the Claiborne lock and dam. Hundreds of acres of beautiful swamps like that but if the river is up in the spring you cant hunt them(as it was when I was there this turkey season)and the bull gnats and mosquitoes are big enough the screw a turkey flat footed in those areas.

I was privileged to hunt that farm. Unfortunately, the timber was harvested a few years back. The place doesn't look the same anymore.
