Flipped mine today. I am too old to go sliding down the pavement. Bruised, road rash in several places, ect. main injury was to my dignity. I ride about 45 miles a week, back country roads, always go well after morning work and school traffic. I swerved to miss a cat and front tire caught a crack in the road, spun handlebars to the right, I went over and to the left. Oh well. I'll get over it.

Dude, a cat? Just bear down on it and flatten it next time. Ain't no kitty worth more than your life.

Flat cats are the best.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I feel your pain, laid mine down to miss a deer in Cades Cove few years back. Hit anything bigger than a snake and it gets ugly real fast.

On a bicycle? Probably the same result if I'd have hit it. Then he probably would have clawed up my legs on top of it.

The more you run over a cat the flatter it gets.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

How fast were you going? I laid a bike down once when I was a kid. It was on a dirt road with a long hill. Idk how fast i was going but I slid about 20 yards. I looked like I had been in a meat grinder.

10-12 Mph - level ground. I just hit the pavement once and then bounced into the ditch. Nothing remarkable. As many bicycle haters are here I thought they would get a smile out of it.

He was riding a bicycle, not a motorcycle.
Roadkill, looks like the hatred for cats on this site outweighs the hatred of bicycles. grin

Did the same thing about 2 years ago broke 3 ribs except I swerved to miss a coon. Took a little while to get over that one. I still ride 3 days a week.

That's saying quite a lot. cats really must be disliked then.

I've had some busted ribs. That really hurts. Think I might miss a day or two myself. I'm riding a Trek hybrid so it has decently wide tires. It can take a good sized bump. Coon is a lot bigger than a cat though.

Do you wear the spandex clothes with the blinky lights on your bike and the streamlined helment?

Hell no. No helmet, a ball hat, red shirt, black running shorts. Don't even own anything spandex. Think my wife does though.
