Never done it myself.
We have dish at home. Wanted to use it at camp. How does one go about this with dish. All I generally see is the direct TV users with them.
I wasn't sure since I have the hopper and Joey thing how it would work.

Nothing to it man. get another dish and some cable. get an extra receiver (i have been told it needs to be non HD but i am not positive on that). find a good spot for the dish, set your receiver so that you can see/hear the signal meter, move the dish around until you get a good signal, lock it down.

I did it many years ago with Dish. I bought a satellite that sat on a tripod. I then got a receiver that a friend was no longer using and had it added to my home account. This was the cheapest option. As far as they were concerned, I was using it at home. I'm only cost me like an additional $7 on my monthly bill. Since it's tied to your home account, you get the same channels and package that you get at home.
If you try to set up service for a new location, they want to treat it like a brand new account and charge you $40 a month or whatever the cheapest package is. There are a few business around that should be able to help you get the components you need. Call an RV sales place and see if they recommend anyone that can help you set up a mobile satellite tv.

Here's my redneck way. I got a dish from a member on here. Then I got an extra non-HD box added to my bill. It's around $5.00 a month. I got a 5 gallon bucket and cemented a metal fence post in the bucket then attached the dish. Googled the degree the dish needs to point towards and use my compass on my phone to aim it. Nothing to it.

Thanks for the tips.
I was mainly concerned if the ones I have would work. I may just call dish and ask then about a rv one to have and see what they say. I didn't to much think the hopper and Joey would work since they depend alot on the WiFi and network crap.

Be warned, they may try to steer you toward what they want you to pay for, instead of what might "work". That's the main point I was trying to make earlier. If you go asking what needs to be done, they may sell you an RV package, if there is such a thing. All I'm saying is don't take what they tell you as the gospel truth. If you can get your hands on a satellite and receiver, you may be good to go if you add it to your home account.

I can come up with a dish. but not sure about what to do with the receiver and getting it to where I can have service. I dont want to steal it, but would be nice if I could just add a receiver for 10 dollars or less a month.

I have uverse at home, but dish at my business. I just bought a dish from a local company and bolted to the top of the barn.
I had an old non-hd box I was using at the camp and Dish called me one day about a year ago and upgraded my business. For the same money I was paying for 2 hd and 1 non-hd boxes they changed me to 4 hd box and 1 hd dvr.
I took 1 box plus the dvr box to the camp. I set it up to record some things so if the weather craps out the signal I still have something to watch. I have the single hd box in the den and I put a splitter on the dvr box and used 2 heavy old tube tv's. One on top of the fridge so I can watch the news while eating breakfast and the other outside near the grill for football games. I leave the old tv outside and nobody has been strong enough to steal it. It is a 48" tube tv that probably weighs about 350 pounds.
