Deer do get used to them...they get used to watching them while in the green field. I turkey hunted on one of our fields the other day and the deer that came into the field were watching the shooting house like somebody was still using it.

club I used to be in painted theirs with used motor oil (one of the guys is a mechanic and has an endless supply). not so much to camo them, but to repel water and carpenter bees. seemed to work well and the deer never paid it any attention.
