Does it seem like if the birds gobble really well one morning, they usually do t gobble much at all the next and vice versa. Does this happen to anyone else? I went yesterday morning and heard 2 birds gobble over 100 times each. Went back to same place this morning, very similar weather, etc. and i didnt hear one gobble. This has happened to me in wilcox county, butler county, and baldwin county this year. Birds just act completely different on consecutive days. Does this seem common to any of you?

They are starting to cover some ground now looking for hens... I think they just end up in a different place alot of times this time of year.

This scenario has happened all spring around my house, on land that is largely if not completely unhunted. I heard 4 - 6 birds Sunday, 1 Monday, and none since. I know they are around, but don't talk much

Agree with this. Every bird I heard until last weekend was >500 yds across the property line. Last Sunday I had 4 in the same bottom on my side of the line and all wanted to work.

Happened to me a lot in the past, too. Not sure what changes from one very similar day, weather and temp-wise, to the next. Maybe the old boy is just flat tired the next day from all his "activity"...

Turkeys move all the time the stupid things just walk around. They may be 5 miles away tomorrow or may be in the same tree as this morning. One my have moved out and another moved in. Ramblin birds. The one that gobbles a lot one day may not be the same bird that hardly gobbles the next

I had one gobble about 25 times the other day,and has not gobbled since...of course he got a load of TSS in the face, but he still quit gobbling.....Listen fellas, turkey's gobble to attract hens, and if he gobbles enough,he will find some;when he does the gobbling will stop, and strutting will begin.I also know that these rascals put some miles on this time a year,so if he was in an area yesterday, don't mean he is there today, but if he don't get killed there is a good chance he will be back.Be patient, and hunt smart, you will eventually get an opportunity if you don't run him off with a bunch of blundering.

I would rather be turkey hunting
