This season started off with a bang and went out with a whimper. I usually end up with 1 hunt a year where I get blanked but I think that happened 4-5 times this year. New birds just rarely showed up and the weather sucked. Still got to have some good hunts with good folks and saw a few "firsts". Looking forward to next year already. Already got my tree picked out for opening day! thumbup

2nd day of Arkie opener.

This never gets old.

AL opener.

Middle of the season in AL turned poor.

Had some geese show up that were unexpected and got my first goose triple.

Did this a lot this year and will continue that tradition in the future.

This did not suck, even if the hunting did.

Made it back up to Arkie in January to hunt some fields. Learned a lot but only killed 8 teal in 3 days. Too much water and missed a couple shots on pintails that were just unexplainable. Greenheads were the same ones we hunted in November. Just wasn't a good trip. One of those trips that just never seems to get dialed in.

Most places were like driving through an ocean.

The redheads finally showed up towards the last half of January. Should've had our 3 limits here but shooting was lacking.

Probably my favorite diver. Not real smart but plenty tough and generally decoy well.

There are more that I won't post and a few hunts that I didn't even take a picture because it was so frustrating. I'm definitely ready for a lower water year with some colder weather. Looking forward to next season, but lots of habitat and dog work to do between now and then.

Still not terrible my friend. My buddy's place out of Monticello sucked this year. Btw where are you killing that many redheads in bama? I have never duck hunted in bama having just moved here, but didn't realized yall had that many. That's still a duck I wanting to put on the wall. Hit me up and next year we can swap some Louisiana hunts for bama hunts if your interested.

Good pics! Our AR season was so-so as well. Waaaaaaay too much water a lot of the time. They wacked em pretty good in the timber most hunts and we had a couple of decent hunts in the fields. Since I don't have a boat and can't hunt the timber I would rate our season as "fair" at best.
