I only have one game camera right now, that I've had for years, but plan on running several next fall. I guess I need to start buying them now so it isn't a big expense all at once. What's out there that will be reliable but won't break the bank. What do I need to stay away from? Thanks

I really like the Browning cameras, too.

I have owned Moultries, Brownings and Bushnells. I have finally found a winner in Stealth cam G42NG. Only $109 off Amazon.

Just got 2 more Brownings in today. Had 1 for about a year and I love it.

I have 4 Moultrie cameras. Haven`t had a problem with any of them.

My Primos 46 HD sucks. Too many false triggers. You have to wade through dozens of empty pics to get to critter pics.

I am going on my 3rd year of the new browning's (design wise, old browning's were horrible) and they have been excellent. I use the dark ops and run 6 lithium batteries in them and they last me at least 6 months depending on the settings. For the price you wont find anything better and they have outperformed the more expensive Moultrie's that I had.
As hevishot said the browning SF are $109 at cableas in huntsvegas and the dark ops are $129.
We are not perfect, only forgiven!!!

I would stay away from Primos. I have two and the nighttime pics are really blurry to the point that you can't tell if the animal is a buck or a doe.
I have a couple of cheaper ones from Wildgame Nation that have been good so far.
The absolute best I have found is the Browning and the HCO Scoutguards.

I have a cheap primos workhorse I have been pleased with Some Primos, Simmons, and a couple of others seem to be the same camera with different names on them. I have the Simmons and they have held up better than any others I have owned. And they are cheapest ones I've had. Maybe I just got good ones. A couple of things to consider: Basically you're putting a computer out in the weather. IMO they all will eventually give you problems. I look at them as disposable like a BIC lighter. When it's gone, it's gone. So, how much do you want to spend on something disposable? Next is theft. I just ordered some off Ebay (New Primos's) for $30/camera with free shipping. These cameras are going to have one purpose: catching people. Some may get stolen. How much are you willing to spend on something that may be stolen? Without malfunction and theft, spend as much on a camera as a rifle because a good rifle can last MANY years. But there is going to be a malfunction or theft.
