Headed back in a few days and just wondering how it's been. I've seen a few nice pics posted recently, but wondering if the rut got going or still holding off?

Only if it gets cold. 70 degree weather isn't going to get them fired up.

I wasted four days down there last week. The weather was bad 3 of the 4 days. The buck sign I saw was way old.

Hunted for the last 8 days straight out there. Had one chance at a good buck, there were days I didn't see a deer at all (sitting for 10 hours).

Thanks, guys. Sorry for those that hunted it hard and didn't see anything. Hopefully after the rain this week (and drop in temps) they will move around.

A member here who doesn't post much killed a hoss he's been after for three years, over the weekend. He's about 12 miles from Clayton.

I hunt about 8 miles west of Clayton, AL and the rut is over at our place. It normally comes in around Jan 20th and is still going on when the season ends, but this year it came in around Jan 8th and ended around Jan 25th. Past two weeks have been very slow. Some does coming to plots and small spikes and 4 pts cruising, but big bucks have gone nocturnal.
