288.
Where the heck are y'all getting 2? You do the inside the perentheses first, getting 12, then multiply, getting 24. Then 48 divided by 24 is 2

Both answers (2, 288) are technically correct the way the equation is written. It's ambiguous as written. If you want to render it solvable with one answer, you must write it either as:
(48/2)(9+3), which would be 288, or
48/(2(9+3)), which would be 2.

I saw the link you provided, but I can provide a link that says your link is no more correct than mine is...
https://math.berkeley.edu/~gbergman/misc/numbers/ord_ops.html
General math "etiquette" says that multiplicaion by juxtaposition takes priority over other processes. So, in essence, is a/bc correct as....
a bc
OR
a/b c
General math etiquette says that it should be the first, but that doesn't agree with PEMDAS.
In both examples, the original equation posted and the one I just posted, they are written ambiguously/poorly and can yield two different answers according to which school of though one subscribes to.

Y'all go punch it in a calculator or type the equation in Google. You'll get 288 Really? Here's the difference, on a scientific calculator....
