last thing you wanna see on your cam is a wolf pack That's why they were pretty much wiped out in this state a 100 yrs ago. Friend of mine used to work a catfish farm between Greensboro and gallion, he swears they are down there in that area.

We got a pic of one on our trail cams (I don't have it but guy I go with does..) he sent it to a biologist who sent it many others and they all concluded it was a pure bred red wolf...guy I go with then saw it while turkey hunting that spring as it trotted by on the far end of the field...peppered it's tail a lil at 100 yards just to scare it away...up on lookout mountain in dekalb county

some of you should read a little before you comment. Several of your opinions on this are completely wrong and discreadeted by science. Their is quite a bit of info out there right now on new coyote research that backs that the coyotes we have in many areas of the US carry wolf DNA. They have proven that the small scroungy coyote that is seen out west is not the same canine we have here. The Info is out there for the naysayers .

I wasn't talking about the picture.

There are red wolves in Alabama. I've seen one. But I don't have a picture so it might as well have been a black panther. Had an old man who worked for the lady (they are both deceased now) who had cows next to our lease. He would keep an eye on our place and let me know if anything was going on. One day he says "we've got a red wolf around here. I've have seen him several times in the back of the pasture that joins your place. Nobody will believe it though." My response, "I believe you Ed. I saw it two weeks ago while bow hunting at about 50 yards." We did not have hardly any coyotes on our place at that time. I no longer see the BIG DOG tracks, and the coyotes have taken over.

I heard a "black panther" story last night... Sighted in LA by multiple people...

Them big "coyotes" are probably mixed with someone's dog that got dumped out Possible, but not probable for several reasons: 1. Difference in breeding patterns. Coyotes breed seasonally, dogs do not. 2. Coyotes are almost always antagonistic towards dogs. 3. Coyotes will only exhibit nonspecific breeding when suitable members of its own species are not available. Name a place in Alabama that doesn't have a thriving coyote population. If there's one, there's a thousand it seems like. 4. Litter survivability is very low, even in a captive setting. I'm not saying it doesn't happen. I'm just saying chances are pretty slim.
