If you paid 1400.00 a year to be a member of a hunting club,what would be your expectations as to deer sightings .....shooting houses..greenfields ...etc

Expect to see deer consistently with some quality bucks. Good pop,uation

How many acres, and what county. 1400 dollars will get you alot more acres in some places,but alot less deer per dollar to see.

See deer about every sit with some gooduns killed every year to know that the genects are there.nice fields,shooting houses,place to sleep or park camper.very little drama & family friendly.

You fellas expect a lot more out of $1400 than I do.

I would expect drama in any hunting club, no matter how much you pay. The cheaper the club, more than likely the more members per acre compared to a more expensive club (this applies to any state any county). The more members, the more rules, the more drama.....

If you have 1 member per 100 acres, expect a good bit of pressure. 1 turkey hunter per 500 acres can be a lot of pressure. Depending on the area, deer numbers and quality expectations could change.

If I had $1400 to spend on a lease, I'd try to get one or two buddies with likeminded ideas and try to find 2 or 300 acres somewhere. You'll likely be happier with the result in the end.

Sad to say but I don't expect a lot these days for $1400 or $2000 as far as that goes. As they say; "Been there and done that". It is not so much about money as it about connections. There are some good clubs out here if you have the connections to get in them. They generally don't advertise and have little turnover. People just don't want to get out of something good. On the other hand there is plenty of people operating revolving door clubs eagerly waiting for the next sucker to initiate. You can go to an Alabama WMA and have as good or better chance for a decent deer than what a lot clubs have to offer.And trophy hunting in Al. Is very spotty. Most folks who join a decent club here will be looking at best case scenario of taking a 100 - 130 inch deer.

Walker has potential. Depends on your club rules and what people around you are shooting. Lots of big bucks come out of Walker each year. I hunted there for 4 yrs. Low sightings compared to other counties but during the rut the potential to see a wall hanger is higher than many other counties in the state. I pay the same amount now as I did when I was in Walker. My deer sightings are higher but the potential for a nice one is the same. The biggest thing you have against you is 25 other people hunting with you. If it is good land and for the most part good people I'd say stick with it a few years and learn the land before you bolt.

$1400 would be very difficult for me to let go of unless it produced really nice bucks more than once or twice a year. Like stated above, I think I'd rather find an individual that would like to lease 300-500 acres. Get a couple like minded friends and turn it into a nice place to hunt.

How about 3k a year with ten members on 1000 acres near Prattville . Almost zero sightings in food plots

You cannot assess the hunting on a property by a price tag alone.

I average 5 deer being seen each hunt.....I see several 6 and 7 points .....we are 8 point or better. I guess that it is not bad....I just expect to see more shooters rather I shoot them or not ....definition of shooter to me is 130 or above

If you are expecting to see several TRUE 130" and above deer every year to choose from in AL.....you better either add some zeros behind that dollar figure or get on a long waiting list.

I'd say there are a LOT of people that would gladly pony up $1,400 for that kind of hunting experience...especially if it's close to home. Those 6 and 7's will be nice deer in another year or two. I'd stay where you are if it was me.

Also, and this is not intended at you because it took me a while to realize it as well, but I don't think people realize just how FEW deer will actually get to 130. I would say it's likely less than 5% on most soil here in the south.

I would enjoy a club with 5-6 deer sightings on most hunts
