When I was young Bill Clinton was president gas was less than a dollar. The economy was great and my parents were loaded.... Today the economy sucks and my parents are still rich

TV was black & white

Lyndon Johnson was president and even though I didn't like the man he would never cow tow to a terrorist organization

America was pushing to land a man on the moon and ALL news about the space program was cause for us to sit around that B&W TV for hours at a time

We walked to school 2+ miles even when it was snowing

Schools didn't dismiss unless we had a blizzard

Mom kicked us out of the house to go chase tumbleweeds, tarantulas, and scorpions. Rattlesnakes were Ok but we had to take a baseball bat for them

Self service gas stations were unheard of. If you got out and touched the pump you'd probably get shot

Gas was $0.39 at the local Sinclair and if you were really good (while someone else filled your tank), mommy would buy you a plastic green dinosaur

Mommy collected S&H Green Stamps and if you were really good when she went shopping at the coupon store she would give you a dime to go next door and buy a marvel comic book

I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin
Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

I did have to walk home from school when I was in elementary school but it was only about 2 miles. Can you imagine the fits people would have these days if a 6 or 7 year old 1st grade kid walked 2 miles home after school and crossed 2 busy roads?

we must of gone to the same school... grin I walked to school in Elementary school, prolly a mile or so. Carried a LOT of guns in my car in High school, never a word said. Camped out for days without going home whith my cousin when we were 10-12..and had guns with us. Parents would be in jail for that today...we're raising sissies now....

watched maybe the second rocket into space from our station wagon at Cape Canaveral Fl

I have bought gas for .15 a gallon during a price war in Cahaba Heights in 1966...

I know people in their twenties and early thirties that use the "back in the old days" sayings. I just roll my eyes.

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

At lunch during school, we'd walk around town and collect coke bottles and get the deposit money.

My dad was a barber. That razor strop would give a kid a real good dose of "act right!!"

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

These jobs are not available to the Americans anymore , Mexicans living 10 deep in two bedroom trailers , piled up in a single cab toyota have took these jobs away , while the unemployed american draws welfare checks off of the few Americans who still have a job . Deport em all , and the American kid can go back to Work and learn the value of hard work .

In winter I had to take a tow sack (burlap for you yuppies) and axe to the woods, find an old, seasoned pine stump, dig it up/split it into usable pieces and fill that tow sack so we had something to start the coal on fire in our pot belly stove. We lived in a 4 room, uninsulated house and that old potbelly stove was the only heat for the whole house.I guarantee you that I can start a fire with less raw material from the woods than any of y'all.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
