Guys the State Lands Division and the W&FF Hunter education section (BOW program) of DCNR are sponsoring a Women's mentored hunt at the State Cattle Ranch outside of Greensboro on Friday, jan 15. This hunt is designed specifically to introduce ladies who would like to hunt and have never, or ladies who may have hunted some but don't have someone to show, them the ropes. The day starts @ 8:00 am with some hunter Ed and range time, lunch is provided, afternoon hunt and ends in the evening after the guides skin deer. They need no equipment (rifle, etc) all is provided. They only need weather appropriate clothing. No Camo required. We normally take 10 ladies and have no problem filling the spots through normal channels (BOW events and hunter Ed), but due to unforeseen circumstances, two ladies have cancelled and I need to fill these spots fast. There is a minimal fee of $30.00 and ladies will be required to have a valid Alabama hunting license (can be supervisory, no hunter Ed required)(ladies will be with a guide) So, if you know a lady that fits the description that would be interested, please PM me ASAP. This hunt is a great experience designed to cater to 1st timers.

Great opportunity for some lucky women. That place used to be pretty good from what I'm told from quail hunters.

I'd jump at this if you know someone that qualifies.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

The state cattle ranch is a first class operation thanks to Bill Mason. I highly recommend that any of you take this opportunity to take your gal or girl hunting.

Really surprised no one has jumped on this. The Barnett Lawley Forever Wild Field Trial area is truly a premier property in the middle of the black belt. Bill Mason keeps the grounds in perfect condition & the shooting houses are first class. I know of a youth hunter that killed a really nice 8 point last year hunting on the grounds. Pressure is minimal with youth hunters twice a week rotating areas.

The lucky ladies will have the hunt of a lifetime.

16 minimum on this one, but will qualify for other youth hunts on property. All filled this year, but contact Bill Mason for next years hunts.
