I was sitting at the honey hole last night and I was watching a Blue Jay 45 minutes before dark. Imagine my surprise when an owl came out of no where and grabbed him.

Then he flew up to a limb a little below me and several trees over and ate it.

I took video after the fact (Think Owl sitting on a limb eating) but it didn't really do any justice to what had happened as it was too far away.

so after I climbed down i walked right to the base of the tree he was in and he never budged.

Pretty cool.

still a terrible pic. But great experience.

I have never seen that before. That's cool. I have seen Hawks grab squirrels pretty close and pigeons.

I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

What's that white, fluffy stuff in the tree?

Never shoot an owl.-- 13 years of bad luck. Whole lot worse than breaking a mirror.

That's ironic. I watched two blue jays giving the biggest owl I've ever seen pure hell the weekend before last.

Had one about grab my face last year. I was sitting still waiting for some does to pass by and He swooped down out of nowhere I saw the movement almost too late and flinched. He pulled up right at the last second.

It was pure chaos for a few minutes. I dropped my bow on the floor of the ladder stand, deer were blowing and running all over the place....not sure who was more scared; me, him or the deer.

It's a big time felony, like a hawk protected.

The element of suprise. The deer looks up, eyes get big, he dies.

I don't sleep much when I'm on mission. I see my deer herd being destroyed and right now my deer are being treated like vermin. You don't mess with what, I love.

A deer is just another animal just like a cow. easy as pie to kill.
Like I said, they don't smell me. If I choose to kill them they die. If I choose to let them live, they live.

When things are good, I sleep around 8. Never sleep in the day on purpose. If watching OB, I'll doze right off, and TROX all I know about you, I don't like.
