My daughter killed a pretty nice turkey in March. We should be getting him back from Taxidermist very soon. Local sporting goods store wants to borrow him for display this spring. We are flattered, but nervous that he might not be protected. Anyone ever been through this before? Would you let him go.

If I was nervous about it I wouldnt.
Just explain to them why, they should understand.
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

If it's the turkey that I'm thinking about, with the swords for spurs....I'd let them display it for 5% of their yearly profits! Most businesses won't give you anything for free, so why should you do it for them?

What are you going to get in return? Didn't really get into it other than they would like the turkey during spring turkey season. I was on my lunch break and just stopped for a bit. They knew that i had bought those Remington nitro turkey loads there. I don't think i am going to let him go.

She was just in the right spot at the right time. Just pure luck. Well, and a great caller.

I would if it was in a plexiglass case like mentioned above. They used to have a stud gobbler from TN in the Gander Mountain here in Huntsville killed by a local doctor. Think it has 8 beards?

When you kill a bird as old as that knew you can brag all you want, because there ain't but a handful of folks ever stood on ones head that big.
Some men are mere hunters; others are turkey hunters. —Archibald Rutledge—

If in a plexiglass case, yes. Otherwise, no, I wouldn't do it.
Trophy and once in a lifetime bird!!
May you and your daughter have many more together!!
God Bless, David B.
