Going south on Hwy 5, after you go thru Brent there's a two story white house on the right hand side of the road. It's right before you get to Bethel Baptist Church. I used to pass by there on the weekends and there would be at least twenty trucks parked there. It's been a long time since I've seen a vehicle there and was just curious as to what happened. Not looking for any contact info or anything.

It's not a club my boss owns it,we used to take a lot of clients there but he recently put up a high fence. So it's not being hunted this year.

I have seen this place on my way to hunt Oakmulgee WMA and the TNF down that way and often wondered the same thing myself.

Chip Burke owns it. He bought a bunch of deer last year and put them in the high fence. I helped him run all the native deer out of the fence.

I bet that was an interesting job herding deer.

Also kinda racist towards native deer ain't it.

It was pretty crazy. We had deer running into the fence and trying to jump it. Some almost made it.

The high fence area is only about a hundred acres. We did it several times and probably still didn't get them all out, but I'm sure we got 95%. Their were about 150 people driving them out. Yes it is legal. They are farm raised deer. He has all the permits to raise them. There is another farm here in Bibb county near Centerville that raises Whitetails also named Davis Whitetails. Also country singer Brantley Gilbert just purchased a large tract of land in Bibb county that he is going to high fence and import farm raised deer into.

I'm definitely no high fence/deer farm expert, but 100 acres doesn't sound anywhere near big enough.

Years ago I knew of a hunting club that had a fenced area with a bunch of does and one or two very good bucks. Every year they would separate the buck and most doe fawns out and turn them loose on the well managed club hunting area. They would keep a few of the doe fawns for breeding and just put a new good genetic buck in the pen. A lot like raising cows. I don't know if they still do this.

That's what he's doing. He has a club in Perry County that's about 2500 acres that is very well managed. I could be wrong on the size of the acreage inside the high fence.
