Anyone ever put a peep sight on one? Thinking about doing it.

Are you talking about the peep sight over the bead at the end of the barrel? If so the first thing I do is take them off I can see alot better without it.

No the peep sight up where a scope would be mounted. Something like the rear sight on an M16.

Enjoy your freedom, while it lasts.

I think it would be easier for my son to shoot accurately.

Just make sure to get one with a big enough inside diameter. You don't want one of the really small ones. Hard to see what your are shooting at on a deer

Might as well get a scope and be done with it IMO.

Normally, I'd agree. I don't like the way a lever gun handles with a scope. Not to mention, it just looks weird, John Wayne never had a scope on his Winnie!! grin

Honestly this is why I prefer the 94 but a scope is easy to aim with for a kid.

No I am sure he means the 34 year old father of 4 who was not required to enter the draft.

I would teach him to use irons. A peep is also a great idea. To me it is a skill a lot of adult hunters don't have. I shot irons a lot as a kid on a Winchester single shot 22 and then a nylon 66. Killed my first few deer with irons. Then got a scope and realized 20 years later that I had not shot a deer with or any other game without the use of a scope since. Decided I wanted to kill a deer with irons and started practicing again. Killing a deer at 86 yards slipping thru timber with a scope is a chip shot but nerve wracking to me with iron sights. Was very proud of this small buck I took that year with iron sights using a marlin 44. Here is a pic of the XS ghost rail peep you could buy. I like it with Leupold quick release bases.
