Really??? Guys are swearing by RL-33 and 140s out of the 26 Nosler and the 6.5x300 Weatherby on Longrangehunting. To hear them tell it RL-33 is the fastest. How much RL-33 did you put in to the case?

Started with 78gr RL25. Worked up to 80 gr where I got 3622 fps avg. Then went to 79 gr of RL 33 worked up 81 gr where peak load avg 3375 fps.

On the LRX load I avg 3510 with RL33 started at 79 worked up to 81.

My RL25 loads with LRX were all north of 3575. Had a bit of pressure signs with 25 but none with RL33. And no signs that were concerning and my chrono stayed consistent so I was relieved of that.

So your comparing gr. to gr. with RL-25 against RL-33. I guess the RL-33 makes less pressure is why Im reading about guys using 86-89 gr of RL-33 and getting 3500-3700 fps range now. RL-17 is the same way. It doesnt make pressure fast either. Only down side I see is hot weather. I have had RL-17 loads in 284 Shehane that were great till they hit 90 degrees then the primers perced. Whats the fill like with 81 grs???

Recoil never felt on my end. But I don't pay attn to it either. Like I said all these loadings were just numbers I felt comfy with starting out at with basically zero data. Once I get my OAL case I'll be better able to fine tune my seating depth. I only loaded to book COAL this go round

N-570 is what shot good in my 6.5-300. 50BMG and H870 were close.

7828 is usually pretty good as well. That's what I shoot in 30-378 and 300WBY and accuracy is good.

Interested in hearing what works for you in the 26. I am shooting factory 129 and 142 LRAB. I just picked up some factory 140 AB, not long range. I think this rifle will lead to me hand loading, which I am looking forward to.

What rifle setup do you have in the 26? Rate of twist and barrel length? Which factory load shot best for you?

I have the Nosler M48 Patriot, 1-8" twist and 26 inch barrel. I was going down the custom path and found this and changed direction. To be honest I have not been pleased with either of the Long Range Accubonds( 129&142) in the factory loads. All at 100yds. Nosler was very confident that the 140 AB would tighten my groups and be consistent. I just got the 140 and hope to shoot Thursday after this rain passes through. Everyone has told me this is a rifle I will want to hand load for....so will probably go there next. It is very compelling caliber/cartridge that I am committed to. Very interested in your results.

Shooters- pretty much the same as H870 and AA8700. It was 20mm powder. Should work good. A big stash will be needed if you do much shooting... grin

I've got a montana extreme 2 8.5" twist 26" barrel. It's basically on a Winchester model 70 action. I really like the setup and shot 1/2" groups with the 129 LRAB and 3/4" groups with the 127 LRX this past Sat. But I think I can do better. I just need more trigger time with it.

That a nice rifle. Were the 129 LRAB hand loaded or factory?

Hand loaded. All I've shot are loads I built. Got some factory 142 LRAB headed to me to see how it shoots before I handload some 142. Mainly bought it for the brass. Going to try some retumbo and U.S. 869 loads next.
