We have a area about 2 1/2 acres that borders a smz and surrounded by 10-12 year old pines. I know they wear it out in the summer but have never hunted any patches like it when it dies. I was just seeing if anyone had ever tried hunting a area like this and had any luck.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

There's a very similar area on Lowndes WMA that I have only scouted after last season that was loaded with sign. Haven't gotten around to trying it this season because I'm one step behind a giant. Curious to hear others responses

That's a big 10-4. Back when I rifle hunted, a spot like that would have been money - anytime of the year.

On a cold sunny day they love to bed in it.

Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!

I hunt a kudzu patch & see deer in it frequently. They seem to feel safe in the cover. There will be small forb sprouts in open spots that they eat. Last year I tried to spray & kill a strip in the kudzu. Over seeded it with cereal rye. That experiment was a total failure. But I still hunted the spot & saw deer.

I have seen deer in it driving down the road, saw 2 does standing in an old kudzu patch a week or so ago, never have hunted any though.

Heck yeah. They love it for some reason. Me and dad and your dad used to spotlight everyone we passed. Seemed to always be deer in them.

The place I hunt near my house, I jump them up in a big kudzu patch nearly every time. I jumped a nice buck at the first of bow season, when it was thick and green. Noticed a lot of bedding spots in the middle of it too.

Kudzu was mine and my Uncle's #1 go to spot for bow hunting back in the day before having 6000 food plots. Don't know why I ever got away from it, but may need to take another look!!
