LOL, you may be right because there ain't no such law..... grin

I'd just like to know just which law he thinks says that I can do 10 years for bowhunting in a city limit......

I used to hunt about 200yds from the house and I would turn the radio up loud so i could listen to the football game while in the stand.

I grew up in Hoover, biggest deer (multiple) I've ever seen were in the middle of Hoover. My friends father use to hunt them illegally. He killed a nice 150 16 point. I've never actually hunted them where he does, just doesn't feel right. A) cause it is illegal and B) when I hunt I don't want to here traffic.

Best hunting I ever experienced in the south was behind an old girlfriends house in an affluent Georgia neighborhood. I could bowhunt and watch her and her friends in the pool. Bucks and boobs, those were the days.

That is redneck as it gets laugh

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

I've got a place in Shelby county that is pretty good. It'll spoil you, that's for sure. When 4'oclock rolls around you better stand up and get ready. I've talked with the game warden and he told me they don't enforce city ordinances. As long as it's zoned for "agricultural" I'm okay with the city. It's big enough that I don't have to watch people in their yard, and hopefully one doesn't die in someone's yard. There's window hunters in the neighborhood that I already know about, but that's to be expected I guess.

I have heard the hunting on the residential outskirts of Auburn is really for the reasons mentioned here.

I have been hunting urban deer for many years now. I can't imagine anyone hunting any more urban than one of my properties. Houses, schools, businesses, city parks, ball fields, restaurants, city cemetery, a major state hwy and interstate intersection, wal mart and lowes. All are on the borders of this small woodlot I have been hunting it for almost 10 yrs and it is very very noisy.

I learned early on that these deer were not always as easy as everyone thinks. They tolerate human intrusion and smells better than other deer seem to but they are so nocturnal it can be difficult to kill a buck deer older than 2.5yrs old. The older deer give you one or two opportunities a year to lay eyes on them and with a bow in hand it really narrows shot opportunity. When my deer hit the edge of the field they walk in a strait line to the center of a 50 acre field and its usually too late to shoot.

As far as retrieving a kill. I just wait until its dark and drag his butt out any way possible. The neighbors don't like me being there and have harassed me in the past but they have never witnessed me dragging out a kill. I go to great lengths to keep anyone from knowing what I shoot there.

discharging a firearm in city limits, up to 20yrs if i remember right. there is also no distinction whether it is a bow or gun. though if you are shooting deer with paintball thats ok. its ok to hunt but not discharge a firearm.

Scrape, I will tell you that there is no felony in Alabama called discharging a firearm in city limits or anything close to that.

The only felony charges involving a gun and shooting it involve shooting s person or shooting into a vehicle or home.

A city may have an ordanance about it, but cities don't have felonies. They only have misdemeanors. The longest a city can put you I jail for is 1 year.

Negative on this.

I may vary from municipality to municipality but it is not illegal to shoot a bow in the city limits of the town you live in scrape. Hell I have a permit to discharge a firearm on my property in town and we have an archery park at the high school on the greenway walking track.

It amazes me when someone considers a bow to be a firearm.

Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!
