If high school classes on the legal ramifications of marriage and divorce were mandatory men might never get married.

If you find the right woman and treat her with Love and Respect and she does the same, the two of you treat eachother the way the bible says a husband and wife should treat eachother marriage is a wonderful thing. The sad part is couples that do this are few and far between these days. We live in a me me me throwaway society these days and that is how most people treat there marriage. My .02

It all started with microwave ovens and instant oatmeal and went downhill from there.In this day and age if it aint quick and easy people dont want it and if they dont like it they just throw it away instead of doing something about it.

And then there's this. I spoke to an old-time lawyer who said that they USED TO talk to couples, take all the notes down, and then advise them to come back in a couple of weeks for their 2nd "divorce" consultation. 99.9% of the time, back in the day, after "cooling off", the marriage would stay together.

I wish I knew that in my first two marriages, and more importantly I wish those crazy chicks I was married to knew that...

People change. I've seen it a bunch of times. Divorces are expensive because they are worth it. No reason to be miserable. Got the t-shirt!

I'll tell you the reason I think we see so many divorces. Women today are RAISED to be too aggressive towards men. I look at the way my wife's mother and stepmother talk to their husbands in front of their children, and it disgusts me. I've seen it with other people I grew up with. Daughters SEE their mother bullying their husband, and talking to him like he's a servant, and it becomes a behavior for the daughters in their relationships. I'm not saying we need sharia law with women in servitude, but what I see today, didn't happen in my childhood home.

The problem with my first marriage was that it was just my first wife and I. God was there of couse but we didnt bother with him.

My good wife helped me realize that if we put God first then nothing could tear or marriage apart. Fourteen years and counting, I love her more now than ever; and we've been through tougher times than in my first marriage. God bless her.
