I'm removing a seized 5.4 from a F-250. The engine is locked up tight. Even with a cheater bar it won't turn. I'd rather not tear into it and find whats binding it. Can I pull the engine with the torque converter still attached to the flex plate, without damaging the TC or transmission?

If you remove the radiator and fan you'll probably gain enough room up front to do that.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I believe you are right. I'm going to pull the timing cover and hope it's something in there binding it.

If I was over your way I would come by and put some arm strength on that crank.

I could use a floor jack the turn the cheater bar, but I hate to snap the bolt and limit my options on possibly freeing it up by looking internally.

Pull the starter and get a good pry bar on the flywheel. Maybe try to back the motor up. Fords have studs on the converter. Sometimes you can separate the motor and trans just enough to get an end wrench on the nuts. Pulling the converter with the eng. will make a big mess, but if you support the trans and take the motor mounts off, you can slide the motor straight out and not damage the pump bushing. Always replace the pump seal.

Holy chit! If you don't know, you don't need to be doing this! So people that don't know things shouldn't try new things based on sound advise from others? That's a jackass statement if I ever heard one!

I believe I'm going to dig into the engine first and find what's binding it so I can release the TC first or like jacannon mentioned, try separating them enough to get a wrench in there. Thanks for the helpful advice.
