The one I'm getting is a 700 Grizzly with power steering and automatic. Also has the locking differential and a few other bells and whistles. I think the Kodiak is about 1000 less but doesn't have the differential lock. I am paying 8149 out the door for the Grizzly. Montgomery wanted 10,500 out the door. The one I'm getting is green in color.

I'd drive out of my way to go by there and show it to them on the way home.

Sounds like the Montgomery people are a lot like the Ward's Yamaha people in Troy.

I was in the same situation last year. I gave Montgomery several opportunities to get close to Hall Motor sports in Pelham. My preference was to buy locally but they could not make it work. They could not get even close. I would check with them...hour drive from MGM.

Put Wards and Montgomery down all you want. They have been there for years and will be there for a very long time. Anybody can say anything about anybody on the internet.

It be's that way sometimes.

This is who I just used on a pioneer that I just got and they shipped it to Pelham from mobile to shorten my drive. I told them the price out the door from Chattanooga and they were only $500 more.

So you would pay them 2400 dollars more for the same scooter you can buy in Mississippi?

Haven't heard of them. I should have asked here first. I made the deal with Lake Hill so I'm going to stand by it. Not looking forward to 9 hours on the road but I'll just look at it as making 2400 bucks.

Or buy used off Craigslist. I've learned to error on the side of not going to a dealer. I bought a kawasaki for $400 off craigslist, replaced the belt and battery and it ran like new.

Lake Hill was very helpful, the guy called me 3 or 4 times yesterday just going over stuff. It's 4.5 hours one way, but I figure that's a savings of 1000 up there and 1000 back.
I'll never set foot in Montgomery Yamaha again.

Lmao. Back in 2003 I did this very thing with the same two dealerships with a grizzly 660. You won't have to pay tax in Mississippi initially but trust me you will get a bill from the IRS. Seems like my tax was $300 which still saved me $1,600. I also bought the extended warranty and I had a seal start to leak so I carried it to montgomery. They told me since I didn't buy from them they wouldn't honor the warranty. They were trying to charge me $300 for replacing a seal that was covered by the warranty. I called the 800 number in my book which stated any yamaha dealer in the US had to honor and the manager tore up that bill and handed me the keys.

That's is the only thing that kinda worries me about purchasing one in Chattanooga or Corinth. I don't want to use the local dealer for warranty. It doesn't mean I'm gonna pay the difference as much as it is though. I would be concerned about the local dealer not fixing it right due to not buying it from them if something went wrong.

I don't know where in North Bama you are, but I bought my grizzly in Corinth and have used the dealership in Scottsboro do all the maintenance and warranty work on it without a hiccup. They are also very knowledgeable and fair priced in my opinion.

They are the biggest jack@#$% I have ever met....I showed them on line where they were 2K higher than the place in Hamilton Al...and they couldn't figure out y I still didn't want to buy from them. I don't know how they or the place across the road stay in business....
